My Business Idea

In my E-Marketing class, I learned about the concept of Location-Based Marketing. When my professor was explaining the concept to me, I was put in a state of shock. Not because I had never heard of the concept, but rather because it was a term that was eluding me all this time.

While writing one of my exams, I came up with a business idea. I thought about how people were now using applications such as Foursquare, Facebook and Twitter Check-Ins, etc, to show the world where they are or were. My train of thought was: why can't companies check in to YOU?

I was specifically writing down the definitions of pull and push marketing when it came to me. Instead of a consumer saying "I'm checking into Moxie's", why cant Moxie's say "I'm checking into Jim"? That is where my idea came from.

I don't want to reveal too much yet, but I am extremely excited to get started on this journey and I hope you will join me!

  1. Wow! I like where this is going! Something as simple & obvious as the opposite of the status quo is overlooked a lot, even though it's right there in front of us.

  2. Wow this sounds pretty awesome! But I'm not sure how I feel about companies always knowing where I am!
